Today METISfiles presented at a DHPA network meeting for 20 Dutch (DHPA members) and 30 Danish hosting organisations (BFIH members). We recently updated our Danish and Swedish cloudscapes (we will publish more on this shortly) and talked about the similarities and differences between the Dutch and Danish hosting sectors.
One of the details we highlighted in our talk is the similarity in partnering preferences between Dutch and Danish SaaS and IaaS providers regarding Microsoft (Azure) and Amazon (AWS).
While AWS is the number one hosting partner for both Dutch and Danish SaaS providers – measured in % of SaaS providers partnering with AWS – Azure is the preferred global cloud partner for both Dutch and Danish IaaS providers (see table below):
SaaS providers do partner with Microsoft for IaaS but Azure’s share is 4% in the Netherlands and 7% in Denmark. And IaaS providers also partner with Amazon but AWS’ share is 7% in the Netherlands and 5% in Denmark.
Notably absent from both? Google Cloud Platform.
