Amsterdam, 12 March 2015. The METISfiles have updated the Spanish Cloudscape. Version 1.1 is now online and visualizes 164 cloud providers of which 11 % are active in more than one segment or category, resulting in a total of 214 entries. SaaS remains the most popular segment with 70% of entries. 29% of entries are IaaS providers and only 1% offer PaaS services.
Within the SaaS segment, Finance/ERP is the leading SaaS offering with 15% of SaaS vendors. Communications commands a 12% share of SaaS followed by CRM (9%), Healthcare (7%), Collaboration (6%), Project Management (5%), Digital Marketing (4%) and Online Workspace (3%). The “other” segment (39%) has a wide variety of specialisations.
Other interesting characteristics of Spanish SaaS providers include:
- The percentage of SaaS providers that have an IaaS partner has increased from 57% to 59%, 41% have their own infrastructure, down from 43% last year
- 27% of SaaS providers that have an IaaS partner are located in a Spanish data centre compared to 25% last year. 44% are in another European country compared to 45% last year. 29% are in the US, compared to 30% last year.
- 70% of SaaS providers that have an IaaS partner provide online ordering and onboarding compared to 24% of those that have their own infrastructure. Last year these percentages were 62% and 21% respectively.
